Loss and profit

Thanks to small girl, who tried to verify the theory of Cannon Swimming Ability I have a brand new gear. Few weeks ago my dad went to the neighbours to photograph their grandchildren. Day was sunny and hot, children played in the garden puffed-pool. In the moment he turned away a girl grabbed his Cannon EOS 300 (traditional one) and put it into water. Dad told me that water was everywhere inside the gear, even between the lens [1]. The camera - after drying - was totally dead, so my dad decided to take my EOS 300D (digital) and I came into possession of new Cannon 40D.

Not small loss, but great profit - as we say in Poland. But anyway - when I'm looking at the dead EOS 300 I'm feeling sad.

Thanks to my "Penelope" ;) , who recommended me the 40D and borrowed his fish-eye lens my next journey seems to be really funny. It's the last part of my sailing expeditions this year. I just returned from Catalonia and I'm going to Vigo at coming Fri.
The master of STS Pogoria hints about the route Vigo (Spain) - Lisbon - Gibraltar - Tunesia - Malaga (Spain). But as always it depends of the weather. I'm glad about the Gibraltar: I'm totally in love (from the 1st sight) with the classical police officer with the typical cap and red telephone box on the W. Churchill Av at the end of the Ancient World. Last time I visited the territory I made pictures of the box and Av only, maybe this time I'll take a soul [2] of the officer with me. :D

And in October I need to finalize the Changes (see the journal from Jun 20).

CU all in Oct. :ahoy:

[1] That's unfortunately not true, 'cause pictures taked with this lens are really good, without any blurs or smudges (that I expected).
[2] By taking the picture of course, that's an old superstition. :D
